Williams Montgomery & John focuses its practice on the trial of civil lawsuits in State and Federal Courts throughout the United States, as well as arbitrations, mediations and various other forms of alternative dispute resolution. The Firm's experience encompasses trial and appellate representation in virtually every area of commercial and civil practice, including complex commercial disputes, securities, ERISA, antitrust, products liability, professional liability, health care, transportation, building construction, premises liability, inland marine, civil rights, employment law, municipality law, fires and explosions, environmental impairment, toxic torts, mass tort litigation, class actions, worker's compensation, insurance and reinsurance coverage and claims disputes. The Firm acts as national or regional coordinating counsel and national or regional trial counsel for a number of its clients.
All new associates train with a partner and one or more senior associates. It is expected that associates will be handling their own full case load within about five years. More senior associates who join the firm typically have significant litigation experience and are hired to take on significant responsibilities in those areas in which the Firm may have immediate need for experienced lawyers.
The Firm emphasizes high quality performance. Advancement, salary and bonus are based on merit. A premium is placed on quick acceptance of significant responsibility and the development of an ability to communicate in a timely and informative manner with clients sophisticated in litigation.
