Chicago Volunteer Legal Services

CVLS is an organization of nearly 3,000 volunteer attorneys who donate free legal services to thousands of low-income Chicagoans annually. At only $101 per case, CVLS is unique in its ability to offer a wide range of totally free legal services to the poor and working poor of Chicago. CVLS is recognized as the most comprehensive, most efficient and most cost-effective civil legal aid provider in Chicago.

CVLS volunteers and staff attorneys represent clients in a wide variety of civil matters. While much of their work involves litigation, they also handle administrative and non-litigation matters.

Their caseload is heavily weighted to family law, real estate and consumer issues.

Each year, Williams Montgomery & John fields a team for the CVLS Race Judicata 5k Run, which raises funds to support CVLS programs that make substantial positive impact on the lives of its clients.
