Muskingum University

Muskingum University is a private four-year comprehensive college with a strong liberal arts tradition located in New Concord, Ohio.  Founded in 1837 the University is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is home to 1700 undergraduate and 1300 graduate students.  Muskingum University’s primary purpose is to develop—intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically—whole persons, by fostering critical thinking, positive action, ethical sensitivity and spiritual growth, so that they may lead vocationally productive, personally satisfying and socially responsible lives.

Partner C. Barry Montgomery is an alumnus of Muskingum University.  For over 35 years he has served as a Trustee of the University. He has served as a member of the Executive Committee and also chaired the Campus Life Committee.  In recognition of his extraordinary record of service and commitment to the University, his prolific and respected scholarly work related to his outstanding legal career and his devotion to civic responsibility,  Muskingum University awarded an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree to Mr. Montgomery in 2005.
