Biography

Allison E. Nold is an associate at Williams Montgomery & John Ltd. and a member of the firm's commercial litigation and product liability practice groups. She focuses her practice on defending product liability, professional liability, premises liability, aviation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims.

As part of Ms. Nold's product liability practice, she has significant experience representing aviation component part manufacturers, including engine manufacturers, in cases arising from international and domestic accidents and incidents.

Ms. Nold's premises liability, catastrophic injury and wrongful death practices encompass the representation of general contractors and a variety of property owners, including restaurants, businesses and hotels, in personal injury lawsuits. She has extensive experience in such matters before federal and state courts.

While in law school, Ms. Nold was a certified legal intern at the U.S. Attorney's Office and State's Attorney's Office in Miami, Fla., where she first-chaired a number of bench trials. After graduating from University of Miami School of Law in 2007, Ms. Nold joined the Miami office of one of the country's top 100 largest law firms, where she worked in the general litigation group on product liability, wrongful death, premises liability and commercial litigation matters. She developed significant litigation experience, second-chaired a multimillion-dollar case in federal court, and oversaw a multitude of premises liability matters in state and federal court.

Ms. Nold joined Williams Montgomery & John in 2011.

Education/Bar Admissions

Ms. Nold received a B.A. in political science in 2004 from Wake Forest University, where she also obtained a double minor in French and sociology. She received her J.D., cum laude, in 2007 from University of Miami School of Law, where she was an editor on the Business Law Review and a finalist in the mock trial competition.

Ms. Nold is a member of the Illinois and Florida bars and is admitted to practice before the following federal trial and appellate courts:

Representative Matters

  • Tazoe v. IAE International Aero Engines, et al.

    U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida
    Achieved dismissal on forum non conveniens grounds in more than 70 individual wrongful death actions seeking more than $200 million from client IAE International Aero Engines. Lawsuits arose from the 2007 crash of a Tam Linhas Aeras flight in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Plaintiffs claimed failure of client's V2500 engines caused the crash. Forum non conveniens dismissal upheld on appeal by Eleventh Circuit in 2011.
