Biography

Chris Barber is a partner at Williams Montgomery & John Ltd. and a member of the firm's commercial litigation practice group.  Mr. Barber focuses on commercial litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience in financial markets, bankruptcy and reinsurance matters.  He has litigated cases throughout the United States and abroad, including London and Bermuda.  Mr. Barber has tried more than 140 cases - trials, arbitrations and regulatory enforcement proceedings - to verdict or award.

Mr. Barber has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Illinois Leading Lawyers for commercial litigation and was listed in Illinois Super Lawyers for business and securities litigation.  He is featured in Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation. 

 

Education/Bar Admissions

Mr. Barber received a B.S.B.A. in 1981 from Ohio State University.  He received his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1985.

Mr. Barber was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1986.  He has also been admitted to the following federal trial and appellate courts:
