Biography:
Jordon Steinway represents corporations and individuals in complex litigation involving a wide range of corporate, commercial and civil matters. He regularly appears before the state and federal courts, where his practice is concentrated in the defense and trial of products liability, catastrophic injury and premises liability claims, as well as the litigation of construction, business and mechanics lien disputes. Mr. Steinway has been involved in a number of significant matters and he takes an active role in managing all stages of litigation from pretrial proceedings and discovery through trial.

Representative Cases:
AmAudit v. Azavar Audit Solutions, Cook County, IL. Representing municipal utility cost and tax audit service company in an action alleging fraud, breach of contract and violations under the Illinois Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Case is pending.
In re: 2401 Willow Real Estate LLC, Cook County, IL. Represented owner of real estate, fuel station and convenience store in the disposition of a multitude of mechanics lien claims arising from the general contractor's untimely filing for bankruptcy protection. Intervened in bankruptcy action to compel the debtor's execution of final contractor's sworn statement to facilitate the timely disbursement of escrow funds to all subcontractors.
Carillo v. Morris Material Handling, Inc., et al., U.S. District Court for the Northern District of IL. Representing international manufacturer and supplier of overhead cranes in a products liability action in which the plaintiff allegedly sustained several skull fractures and continues to suffer cognitive dysfunction. Successfully removed the case to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on diversity grounds. Case is pending.
I-55 Truckstop Properties LLC v. SGM Enterprises, Inc., Will County, IL. Represented the owner of a truck stop in an action to quiet title arising from claims for mechanics lien. Successfully compelled the execution and recordation of a satisfaction and release of lien based upon the claimant's failure to comply with various provisions of the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act.
Smith v. Titan Steel Wheels Ltd. (UK), et al, Cook County, IL. Represented component manufacturer of 5-piece rim assemblies for over-the-road trucks in a complex products liability action. Plaintiff sustained blunt force head trauma, multiple fractures on the right side of his body to the arms, clavicle, jaw, face and ribs, and multiple internal injuries including a laceration to the liver and other gastrointestinal injuries as well as a left arm fracture, pulmonary contusion, and hemoperitoneum. Case settled on the eve of trial following presentment of motions in limine.
Yellow Book USA, Inc. v. Accurate Interiors II, Inc., Cook County, IL. Acted as lead defense counsel for a Chicago-based kitchen and bath company in a breach of contract action that resulted in judgment at trial for the Defendant.
Richard Jurczak v. Bravo Restaurants, Inc., 05-3760 (Ill.App. 1st Dist.). Served as lead counsel in a successful appeal to the First District Appellate Court in Illinois in which the Court reversed a judgment entered against a large restaurant licensor. The appeal was premised upon the Appellee’s failure to comply with various Illinois procedural and discovery rules and the trial court’s alleged abuse of discretion in allowing Appellee to proceed accordingly.
GMS Plumbing, Inc. v. G&B Family Construction, et al., Cook County, IL. Successfully defended an action asserting a litany of mechanics liens against a residential home owner, having all liens dismissed as against the subject property and later obtaining a judgment against the general contractor.
